Where: Join Virtually as you like!

Who: Sandra F. San Miguel, DVM, PhD

Sandra F. San Miguel, DVM, PhD, aka Pink Phoenix is the associate dean for engagement at Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. Her primary interests are to promote an inclusive veterinary profession by helping others (from kindergarten to retirement) find their passions and develop their lives and careers around these passions. She leverages Social Cognitive Career Theory and the “Batman Effect” to develop role modeling programs for K-4 children. Her research studies the impact of these programs on both the career aspirations and self-efficacy of participating youth, and the personal and professional impact on participating role models. She currently leads the NIH NIGMS SEPA-supported League of VetaHumanz, a global, inclusive veterinary superhero league where VetaHumanz and allied superheroes in academia, practice, research, government, and industry engage with community organizations and schools across the globe to provide access and support for under-resourced children. Participants will learn how they can become an active member of The League by using their powers for good! #CapesOn”
