Veterinary Technologist II
Charles River Laboratories is seeking a Veterinary Technologist II at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda , MD to provide technical support for rodent colony management and experimental support. Technical responsibilities will include breeding colony management (health status, mating, sexing, weaning, plug checks, pregnancy checks, ear tagging, tattooing, tail sampling for genotyping, euthanasia, maintaining colony records and cage cards); blood and tissue collection, and hormone injections, necropsy and data entry utilizing software with MAC. Computer skills (email, data entry, word processing) are required, MAC experience a plus. DNA purification and PCR techniques are preferred.
B.S in Animal Science or related is required; with one year of experience in laboratory animal research working with rodents. AALAS certification at the ALAT level is preferred.
