Due to expansion and growth, SoBran is seeking a Facility Supervisor/Project Manager at the National Institutes of Health.
Successful candidate will manage and lead the people assigned to the task in accordance with SOPs, policies and guidelines associated with the expectations of their facilities in regard to the proper care and maintenance of on-site animals for the Animal Care Project at NIH. Assist program management in the efficient allocation of the budget, write and maintain reports and develop and maintain an effective relationship with the Government staff. This person will act as a liaison between contract and Government personnel, work with the human resources department in the hiring, disciplining, promoting, and termination of personnel.
Responsibilities include:
- Understands and ensures staff follows all SOPs and Quality Assurance Standards
- Develops and fosters effective teamwork with staff and management team
- Sets and clarifies goals for staff, prioritizes, and coordinates work schedules
- Leads by example in ways that exceeds the expectation of the staff
- Uses imagination and creativity when seeking solutions to problems, considers the potential impact on other areas of the program
- Maintains and fosters good working relationship with clients on a daily basis
- Performs weekly walkthroughs with Government Facility Manager
- Works with the client to provide resolutions to operational issues/concerns in a timely manner
- Reports all minimal and personnel issues and concerns to the appropriate chain of command
- Assists in training classes
- Interviews potential applicants for open positions
- Creates daily and monthly reports
- Conducts disciplinary sessions
- Conducts performance reviews
Experience required:
1-3 years management experience in laboratory animal care
3-5 years experience in laboratory animal care
Education required:
Expectation of an A.A. or B.S. Degree in biology, animal science, or other related discipline, and certification at the LATg, ILAM, or CMAR level
